“I hope you enjoy a read.... i have purchased 3 items from this store, 2 of them are no problem. One is. I purchased a Vale Square Twin Shower Rail Set - Rain Head and Hand Shower from them for a new apartment i was getting built. It was installed by a plumber, as specified so that i did not lose my warranty on the item. Upon inspection of the property i inspected the shower and it was brought to my attention that it was making excessive noise. The first plumber spent some time troubleshooting the issue and after ruling out loose pipes, water hammer (even replacing the shower with another shower which made no noise) he concluded that it was the shower - specifically the divertor valve. So i contacted Renovator store and asked for assistance, seeking a replacement, not a refund. They told me that it was waterhammer most likely (without hearing the noise or sending someone out to inspect it) and sent me a pamphlet and wanted me to be on my way. I then got a second plumber (different company) to come inspect the shower and troubleshoot it to find the problem. Guess what?! Same diagnosis! Its the divertor valve. So i got the plumber to remove the shower so I could send it back. I even sent Renovator store a video of the noise the shower made - but then they said i was using the shower incorrectly... how thats possible i dont know.. more on that shortly. A week after the parcel containing the shower had arrived at Renovator store i still had not heard anything from them, so i sent an email enquiring how it is going. Within an hour i received an email informing me that they were unable to perform the testing as 3 parts were missing - a Connector and 2 screws! Yes, they cant test the shower without the screws! These screws are one of a kind screws and cant be sourced anywhere else in the world! Not even in their own stock! (PS. thats a joke, they are normal grub screws available at bunnings or even in another Vale Square Twin Shower Rail Set - Rain Head and Hand Shower! which they would have on their shelf!) So i sent the connector and 2 screws to them via express post as it has been almost 3 weeks of me not having a shower in my ensuite. Knowing how they had been treating me in the past i wasnt expecting it to fall in my favour. Low and behold, their warranty department could not replicate the noise and deemed there to be no warranty. They say i am using the shower incorrectly... saying that it only makes the noise when the divertor is turned half way (half way between overhead shower and hand shower). However, this is false, it make the noise when its fully in either position, when its half way its not making the noise (hardly making the noise). So i had to send the shower back in its entirety to be tested, including all those screws and connector right? They couldnt start inspection until they had everything right? In their warranty inspection report they didnt even use the rail, the shower rose or the hand shower, only think they connected was the valve... So i spent another $11 for express post for nothing. And it also shows they didnt set up the shower how it was setup in an actual bathroom... Even only using cold water when the noise was more prevalent when hot water was being used (maybe from the increased water pressure im not sure) So now the shower is being returned to me, probably missing bits im assuming and it will still make that awful noise. And if thats not enough for you look at this condescending sentence in their warranty report "• Customer should be advised about the normal operation of the diverter knob" What are you supposed to do? I mean, i turned it and it changed where the water came out of... Anyone with an IQ of a wet paper bag can figure out how to use it... So basically im left with a $500+ noisy shower to which my only option is to take to a magistrates court. I have two independant plumbers saying it was the divertor valve or some faceless warranty guy who for all I know has no qualifications what so ever working for renovator store... Id take qualified and independant plumbers word anyday. Moral of the story: IF you dont want to take a risk with this online australian store dont, its not worth the time and hassle. I feel that they have treated me with as a brain dead fool There are plenty of other reputable online Australian stores out there, or, do as i should have done, Gone out to get it myself instead of ordering it online. THey are more than happy to take your money but once that is done if you need help or have a warranty issue you will be made to jump thru hoops and not get a satisfactory outcome. No customer service A complaint with the Department of commerce and ACCC will be made”
