“Gathering information and the booking process experience were straight forward and Charlie was responsive and helpful. The job itself went fine but the electrician left a lot of mess after installing the full LED downlight unit, and he didn't offer to clean up or pre-warned that there will be plaster bits everywhere. Thank you.”

“All good. The electician removed 25 halogens/transformers and replaced them with 9w integrated 90mm LED downlights. He also installed a new dimmer switch and replaced another dimmer switch with a regular switch.”

“I think 2 stars is, in this instance, being generous. Seemingly professional with prompt and helpful correspondence, during which I was asked to provide images of the globes to be replaced and with it a quote for the dimmables (both the specific LEDs and the dimmer switches) that I was happy to pay for (around $350. Come the installation and whereas the installer was absolutely great and extremely helpful, he was perplexed as he had not seen 110mm downlights before. Point being, he called the office and was advised that they didn't offer these, that the work could not be done. Which would be fair enough; except for the fact that I supplied the photos! But if this wasn't enough, when advised by the tech that he was between a rock and a hard place, that he had already installed three LED's on the dimmable circuits, I responded that if you can't do them - properly - meaning with 110mm enclosures, then it was a waste of time. He agreed. So he did what he could do - replacing only those that weren't 110mm - and politely and professionally left. Once gone, I emailed Travers at Energymakeover advising that the work was complete, however given that they weren't able to complete the work they quoted and for which I paid a third deposit, that the deposit should be refunded. Travers' response was: As three dimmer switches were disabled, you can have your deposit back less $45. So, it was my fault that they messed up? It was my fault that the tech started on the dimmers in one room and was left not knowing what to do because of poor instructions from management. It must have been because my fault, or so it seems, as I am being charged $45 for something that simply should not have been charged. Bottom line: Energymakeovers is probably quite a good company, however when their staff make such blunders and when I suggest that I should not be paying anything I receive no response from Travers, then I am afraid that the company lost all its credibility and their name will be spread as mud to all and sundry as a consequence. And yes; over a mere $45. Seriously Travers! REVISION. Turns out Energymakovers' management wasn't at all happy with how my situation was handled and have in turn refunded me my full deposit.”
