I felt like I was over a barrel when the plumber removed the tap before he gave me the quote! I had family arriving from the country that day otherwise I would have left it for another quote! Please customers shop around before you let this happen to you!!”

“I had a lot water leaking out from my front garden. After some search on line for plumbing service, I came across Dan’s Plumbing which seems to have a very good online review. After I made an appointment, oddly a plumber named Matthew from Fergusons Plumbing Group instead of Dan’s Plumbing turned up. He quoted me $2,473.56 to pin point the leaking spot by using thermal imaging and sound detector. When I questioned him why this was so expensive, he said the equipment he was going to use were very expensive, this was the best price if I could agree on the spot. He added they are the cheapest and best from the online review. I agreed and paid him $247.36 as the 10% deposit on the spot. Two days later he turned up on the site, after about 1 hour he rang me and said the leak was possibly from the irrigation system. He then went on to suggest to re-install a new irrigation line for 26 metres with a quotation of additional $9501. I asked him where is the promised pin point leaking spot, he said he did not know where the exact leaking spot was and he did not use the thermal imaging or the sound detector due to the rain. Matthew tried to press me to pay for the ridiculously expensive job on the day by saying that he had spoken to his manager who agreed to give me a $1124 discount if I would sign the quotation on that day, which I am afraid is all a bit of BS. Subsequently, I have asked Ferguson Plumbing several times to provide me with the pin point leaking spot as agreed. Their reply was they have finished the job and demanding payment for the balance amount of $2226.2 and offered me $120 discount for not using thermal imaging and sound detection equipment, which according to him when quoting, should have been “very expensive”. As Fergusons Plumbing failed to detect the location of the leak, I engaged another plumber to look into the problem. The new plumber found the leaking point within 20 minutes which turned out to be a very simple issue. He came back and fixed the problem the next day. The total cost of the whole job including finding the leaking point and fixing the leak is only for an amount of $450. Like someone else said in his review, I would not recommend this plumber to my worst enemy!”
