“I have contacted this 🤬 company on several occasions for a refund on items I did not receive since June of this year. I was told it would be refunded in 21 days.??? Nothing but scammers. I am going to report it to consumers affair.”

They initially promise you a chance to win $20000 but initially it only costs say $5 to but a piece of useless junk and next time they say you are still in the running but now you have to pay $10 and this goes up to currently $50 and so on ad infinitum. They are grubs and it gets worse. The various state consumer protection bodies do very little except for SA which takes a mild interest. The other states should be closed down as they allow this nonsense to go on under their noses and they do nothing. Magnamail should be closed down as a pernicious dishonest racket.”

We had called the company 2x’s to advise them bit they did nothing in spite of assuring that they would rectify. Eventually australia post called to ask the correct delivery address. “This site is dodgy. I ordered and then tried to call, email etc. Then 2 hours after the order was delivered replied to my email. “Sorry already delivered...” was the reply. On top of this. They sent an invoice stating it needed to be paid in order to keep the product?? Stay away.”

“Magnamail is an Australian owned company that advertises homeware products via pamphlets in newspapers. My mother ordered a few things over ten years ago and she's been the recipient of unsolicited, advertising ever since. It has been impossible to stop this unwanted mail - returning it doesn't work. I started ringing Magnamail in July 2020, requesting all mail to cease. Yes, I was told, this would be done, but there may be one or two more mailouts 'in the system' that they couldn't stop. I rang again in November; same answer. And again early this year; the same. I rang today, and reached a very pleasant customer service person who told me the same. I refuted this and said their system was poor and disrepectful to customers, and that it shouldn't taken ten months. I asked why my mother's name was even on the database - rather disengenious as I had not thought to request it being totally removed (assumed it had). I've now requested it to be totally deleted. This requets has apparently needed to go to a 'higher level' for a supervisor to deal wtih. How ridiculous. Apart from letterbox spam, there's the environmental impact and cost of sending stuff that goes directly into the bin. Magnamail can do better. They're a large company and are not accountable or customer-service orientated enough, in my opinion.”

If you’re looking for a microwave egg cooker, don’t just trust the picture. Look for words that say you can safely use it in a microwave. Etc, etc. we have to use our brains and not expect them to be trustworthy. And all the prizes are cheap junk that will end up in landfill, except the $20 000, I suppose.”
