“What an absolute rip off! Yes, they came out quickly and yes they were pleasant and well mannered. But these people know they have you over a barrel. There was a $150 call out fee, only to tell that yes, we do need a plumber to come out. Then there was an $1800 fee for said plumber to use his high tech acoustic machine that was supposed to find where the leak was. It told us that there was no leak. Great! So then the plumber suggested that we should pay another $2,000 to have two new dectites put around the pipes on the roof (perhaps the rain was coming in and that was the cause of our problem). Then he cut a whole in the wall just to have a look and found a leaking pipe that his $1800 fancy equipment that we had to pay for failed to detect. Oh and to fix that leaky pipe would be an additional $2900!! So a total of just under $7,000 to fix a pipe that in the end took another plumbing company less than an hour and charged us $250 for. No, I would definitely not recommend this company. They seem to prey on those of us who don't know any better. Sad really. Unfortunately it is only after I paid them that I discovered that they had been on a Current Affair more than once for their rip off antics.”

“The plumber, if he was a plumber, arrived pretty quickly, informed him the pilot light keeps going out and I have to restart it all the time. There was some water drips coming from under the control unit, he tried to tell me the hot water tank had a crack in it and we will need to purchase a new unit. Because there was water in the bottom of the enclosure, this was wetting all the pilot light, the thermocouple and the pilot outlet, I informed him that there was no moisture at all on any of the combustion components, he replied "i'm the plumber not you, he completely lost me when he quoted $6000.00 for a new one. I wouldn't use this company at all. I got a rough estimate from a major plumbing supplier for the supply only at approx $1500.00 like for like.. As a side issue, i replaced the control unit for $250.00, now all OK. Thanks Metropolitan for nothing, you did get $140.00 for the call out, never again. ”

And when questioned said it’s because we are an emergency plumber and therefore you pay a higher price. $2000 to fix a broken pipe to the water metre. Less then an hours work. I wouldn’t touch this business with a 10 foot pole! Do your research. Being charged $144 just to come out and quote should have been my first red flag!”

They did need to make a few drywall cuts but they were minimal and they cleaned up everything and the quote was what I paid. “Disgusting lowlifes "praying on the elderly and venerable"! They went to my parents property which is actually my investment property and tried to push my elderly parents into paying $7,000 for a new hot water system which my parents nearly went ahead with! Luckily they called us first and I called my plumber after finding this out and he replaced it for under $2,000! I went onto google to look at these guys and there is an A Current Affair show from last year describing exactly this "praying on the elderly and venerable"! You absolutely disgust me, I don't know how you sleep at night and it amazes me that you can still behave like this even after being called out by A Current Affair! I thought I would at least do my bit and write a review about your dishonest and appalling business and behaviour! Notice how their reviews are turned off on Google and Facebook too! Wonder why! ”
