“BUYER BEWARE don't even bother browsing here Worst refund policy ever. All good eCommerce retailers have a change-of-mind refund policy. Afterall, purchasers are relying on photos and descriptions and sometimes you get something that is not quite what you're after. A good eCommerce retailer happily refunds as they know that good customer service results in people coming back. Not Edison's. Firstly, you only get offered a credit note (is this 1985??) but the credit note is only for 80% of what you paid because they charge a 20% fee. Total rip off. ON TOP OF THAT I WAS CARGED OVER 100$ TO RETURN FALTY FRIDGE NOT HAPPY”

“I am looking to buy a electric ride on mower and found the BAUMR-AG 30" 48V Brushless Electric Ride On Lawn Mower was just about to buy then seen the postage cost approx $900. If you have problems after 60 days this machine could cost you thousands more.”

“Don’t buy if you want the goods delivered anytime soon? They advertise Quick and Fast delivery and 24hr Dispatch, that gives a false impression because they use Hunter Express as their freight company? Just look them up, an absolute abysmal rating 1.5 stars. Once you’ve paid it’s over to Hunter Express and Edisons wash their hands of it! Try ringing Hunter Express or getting an online reply? Impossible. Edisons don’t realise that their reputation is brought down to match the delivery companies reputation, and that’s rock bottom!”

“Don't buy a mower from here - they break and Edisons DON'T keep warranty promises! Last year I purchased a "POWERBLADE Petrol Lawn Mower 139CC 17" Push - V450" from Edisons, and within three months (after only using it a few times), one edge of the base plate came away from main part of the mower. I contacted them and returned the mower and they sent a replacement. Now after six months, THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED - yet when I emailed and explained the situation and stated the obvious that there must be a manufacturing fault in the mowers - since I only mow a quarter acre on my semi-rural residential property, and have just mowed the usual Australian yard of kikiyu, paspalum, couch grasses mixed with clover and a few other weeds. I sent a picture showing how when the edge of the base plate came away from main part of the mower, of course it got bent because it pushed into the ground when going forward - thus sticking downwards and catching on the grass and ground as the mower was pushed forward (unknown by me at the time) which caused the plate to bend. This is exactly the same issue that happened with the previous mower, which they recognised and replaced – however this time for some reason they claim that it was due to "it being roughly treated" and "has not been maintained or cared for correctly". The mowers are obviously poorly made and cannot handle Australian conditions. Given we've been through a cold Autumn and Winter when the grass has only grown slowly, again I've only used the mower about half a dozen times, and expected it to at least last for a couple of years, not just over 6 months! They suggest that should see a welder to get it repaired, and - despite having recognised the exact same problem previously - they say this is not covered under their warranty! Yours faithfully, Jeffrey Hodges”

“WARNING ABOUT EDISONS IN AUSTRALIA. I recently bought the CT 620 IS Plasma cutter from Edisons in Sydney Australia as I needed a cutter fast to finish a job and had limited funds. Absolute piece of junk. Died on the first day after about 1 minute of cutting. I emailed them and received no response. The only way I got them to respond was after repeatedly messaging them through their facebook page. They conveniently don't have a phone number you can call about faulty products. I went and bought a reliable cutter locally for about $200 more to finish the job. Don't waste your money with this cheap cr*p. spend the extra couple of hundred dollars and go to a reputable retailer and buy a brand named unit. It is now 7 days since the machine arrived at their facility and I still have no refund. Additionally I assume that they will not refund the $50 worth of consumables I bought with it, so now I am stuck with a bunch of consumables I couldn't even give away for a junk machine I don't own. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH THESE PEOPLE TO SAVE A COUPLE OF DOLLARS YOU WILL REGRET IT!!! I Probably would have gotten a better cheap plasma cutter off Ali Baba with better customer service than Edisons in Sydney Australia. SCAM WARNING! Edit: $400 dollars of my initial $484 dollars I initially paid was returned to me three weeks after I initially contacted Edisons in Sydney via their facebook page. This was after harrasing them on FB messenger and writing comments under their products on their page that were immediately deleted. the only time I recieved a return call initially was after angry messages to their facbook page. They made me re-setup the plasma cutter I bought that didn't work and made me make a film of it not working. I did this and then I had to sign up to a third party video sharing platform that looked similar to youtube. I then had to upload the video to this platform and then email the link so their so called service technicians could watch it. A couple of days later and some more angry messages to the FB page I recieved notification to mail the unit back to sydney. By this stage I had been provided with a phone number to actually talk to. I mailed the cutter back and heard nothing for a following week. Eventually I got the Shts and phoned them phone rang out. emailed again eventually I was told that the parcel had not arrived and some BS lie not to worry about it because Australia post waits until there are enough parcels to deliver to their facility. Even though I had tracking confirmation that it had been delivered 5 days before. I threatened to make a complaint to the fair trading ombudsman and and that I would file a case with them (which is free for consumers) . 5 hours later a woman rang me and told me that I was going to get $400 back. When I said thats not what I originally paid she angrily said whats the problem? I couldn't be bothered arguing any further at this point and was just glad I got at least 400 back. FYI I'm not a racist dude. My wife is full blood Thai and I have lived and worked in the Philippines. The company makes it out to look like they are a company owned and operated in Australia by fair dinkum ozzies. I spoke to multiple men and women on the phone after actually getting a number to call and I can say with great confidence they all had Philippine accents. RUN AWAY FROM THESE GUYS YOU WILL GET RIPPED AND YOU WILL HAVE TO FIGHT TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK! (I spent 200 more on a brand named unit from a local retailer and couldn't be happier with it. Do not try to save money with these A holes.”

“Huge delivery delay. I have asked for my money back for a work platform. Edisons customer service are very unhelpful. They have no idea where my product is and can't tell me when it will be delivered after over 3 weeks. I live near Geelong.”

“Purchased a finishing nail gun from Edisons, the gun could not do what was advertised. Edisons refused to do anything as they said it was in working order, which it was, but it wasn't strong enough to nail bits of pine together as advertised. They finally offered 80% of the purchase price back after many emails, even after I supplied a video of how it didn't do the job.”

“We bought a raptor mulcher and after waiting and waiting for it to be delivered, the company was always unable to provide an update it broke down after 2nd usage. It was a major break we had only been using very small branches in it. There customer service is short of disgusting they don't care and the person we have been dealing with is just rude. Still waiting for it to be collected I recommend steer clear of this company. Will be contacting my bank and disputing the purchase which is what I would recommend others to do I received the reply below from the company. It took them a while to respond. I am happy to give people a go so contacted them and guess what no reply from them. They did not call when advised any could not be bothered contacting us again. Edisons you have not only dropped the ball you have kicked it out the door. Worst service ever from start to finish. Avoid this company. They just dont care... I think they are also hoping to keep our money too”

“I’ve purchased things in the past from Edison’s, I also get the many emails they send out to advertise their products showing huge discounts, free delivery and it says, “We offer returns if your item was purchased in error, or you’ve had a change of mind.” But this is false advertising or at the very least not presented in a true manner and it seems you have to go further and read the much smaller print, as things are not what they seem. In fact, things are very different when you buy from Edison’s. My home and possessions were damaged in the recent QLD floods and I wanted stronger pumps to divert the water so I purchased their larger pumps and yes the pumps I ordered were a bit bigger than expected and did not fit my drainage sumps. I hadn’t used the items and one was still in the box, I only opened one to check the height and it was too big to fit my home flood system and I notified Edison’s the day after the items arrived. In my initial return request I asked Edison’s for exchange goods (not a refund), so Edison’s were not out of pocket and I understood that I would have to pay for the return postage, but then I was hit by the 20% “handling fee” which was taken off the item price, I nearly fell out of my chair as this was an extra charge of $102.22. Sarcastically I asked if they paid their workers a salary to handle goods and work for them or do they just get people in after receiving return goods, no reply from Edison’s. But it gets worse. By now, I didn’t wish to deal with Edison’s at all and wanted a refund, but it seems they also don’t allow that and the small print says they will give you a store credit? So they want to keep your money regardless of a return as well as you paying the return freight and also getting slugged for a 20% handling fee – what a racket these people are running. They drew to my attention that their “Change of Mind” policy which they say is sanctioned by the ACCC but nowhere on the ACCC site do they say to slug customers 20% of the purchase price or not give them their money back. Edison's say, “We do operate within Australian Consumer Law and as per the ACCC, consumer guarantees do not apply if you got what you asked for but simply changed your mind.” This is what the ACCC site says, “costs must not be inflated in an attempt to deter you from pursuing your claims.” I firmly believe that the hefty charges imposed by Edison’s are an attempt to dissuade customers from returning items for refund or exchange and I didn’t change my mind I made a mistake on size and originally wanted to exchange the goods for something else. With my complaints, questions and emails, Edison’s sent me an email on 22 March 2022 to say, ”Your case has been escalated to me for review and I can advise the following.” “Having said that, I am happy to approve a reduced refund of $408.88 instead of the store credit as a gesture of goodwill. The return postage however will still be your responsibility.” So now, Edison’s want to give me some of my money back but I’m sorry that train has left the station and I want to make people aware of their business practices. Edison’s have set their own harsh terms and conditions in regards to goods that are returned under their so-called “change of mind” policy just to get extra money from customers and this is so wrong – and boy do they slug you big time! They even slug you for a $19 handling fee if you take the item back yourself to their warehouse. I also noticed damage to the carton sent to me which looked like water damage with the timber box breaking apart which I also made Edison’s aware of as I now believed that these items had been sent out previously and were in fact second hand when sent to me. Remember Edison’s insist that return goods be in as new condition so return items can be placed back on the shelve for re sale and I believe that I have now been sent second hand goods and I’m concerned that Edison’s will blame me for the condition of the box they sent out as well. I sent them pictures of the condition of the box straight away, again Edison’s did not return an answer to my email, they were now ignoring me. A company like Edison’s think they can handle people and many do not make waves but just cop it on the chin, I hope this review makes people aware of what can happen if the item is not what you want. I will now also make complaints to the various consumer watch dogs and see what happens.”

“Beware of this company. They don't release your product until you write to them that they have given you a few cents in refund as a means of releasing your product. They don't tell you this before you purchase a product. They don't list any contact number.”

“Purchased a Genpower Inverter generator SV5000 according to the listed specifications on the Edisons web site, namely 2600 watt max rated output, 2200 watts continuously rated output. On receiving the generator and downloading the user manual it is apparent that the advertised specifications are incorrect, in fact overrated as the actual specifications given by the manual show 2500 watts max output, 2000 watts continuous rating. Brought this false advertising to the attention of customer service and received a "thank you for bringing it to our attention " and we will correct it but no other explanation. Have to wonder how these overrated specifications might impact anyone who purchased this generator according to the advertised specifications if they use the generator in good faith at those ratings and it damages the generator, possibly voiding warranty? Whilst the generator itself appears to be good quality and the 3 year warranty is comforting, very disappointed that the generator specifications are not actually what I ordered.”

“Power blade vssso nine month review, You will be told after a defect complaint that you need to be mechanically minded, the manual support link is not all the information needed to operate repair trouble shoot the machine operation. X is not self propelled X the brake and starter is wired across body, the brake handle is for show +$ after 4 uses the pull cord will dislodge but they said that’s normal X the fuel pump push 20 times it won’t harden, start, it’ll stop, reset, pump again 20 times and there’s no idle so the lever is for show too +$ after 5 uses the washer screws will need a refit the vibration loosens them X 8 uses rust will appear under deck and on bars that are coated, yes it’s cleaned and blower dried after every use and stored in my lounge room as a reminded of a bad purchase +$ 9 uses you’ve loss a lot of oil +$ after 12 uses horrific wheel axle, by now you’ll need to fit new wheels as the plastic have worn the little traction +$ after 13 uses of cutting a small yard sir Walter front, cooch in the back, the blades need changing resharpening X after lunch cutting only any moisture the mower won’t cut (ad description of blades is inaccurate) X the deck height; the lowest is high, the ad doesn’t mention the specifications nor does the manual; it’s higher than the average Australian 50c piece! If your a battler, enjoy struggle street, have tons of energy and money to burn along with adding to Australians landfill, profiteering from way over priced outdated machinery from a company that the only thing they have got right is their flashy online marketing then buy it! I’ve tried to get a refund and the company is like a bad telemarketing company that won’t take no for a answer. Sell sell sell! Copy and pasting.”

“UPDATE, full refund was paid. Purchased a GENPOWER Diesel Generator 3 Three Single Phase from edisons. After 10 mins it was blowing smoke and choking and sounde dliek it was going to bow up , worse still the 3 phase socket rattled off as it was held on by nuts there were superglued. Immediately contacted edison's who wanted the machine returned for inspection. It has been 1 month since purchase. I have requested a refund 4 times and keep getting stuffed around. Now Edison's say the machine is ok and want to charge me $155 to be returned because they plugge a heat gun into it and it was ok. The machine is absolute garbage and the customer service is appalling. Taking this straight to consumer affairs”

“Was going to purchase a TRex motorcycle lift bench from Edisons at Seven Hills. They wanted to charge me $19 to collect the item from their warehouse. That's right they charge you for collecting the item that you've purchased from them. Cant believe the hide of this company. When I questioned the charge they actually sent me an email saying the charge is to cover costs at their warehouse. Their same day collection option on their web page was also disabled. So their claim of same day availability is untrue! Shonky, dodgy trading practices to put it mildly! Didn't buy the item from them. Not going to be ripped of by these cowboys!”
